ANTIQUE VICTORIAN MOURNING HAIR BRACELET CIRCA 1860. This fascinating Antique Victorian mourning bracelet is made up of four strands of finely plaited brown hair which is then twisted together to form a beautiful thick band.

Mourning jewellery mirrored the lives and times of the people who wore it and was sometimes made up of the hair of a loved one so that a piece of them was always kept close to the wearer. The hair band is connected by a hinged box fastener which is fashioned in Silver, gilded in 18ct Yellow Gold and engraved with lovely floral patterning. A unique piece of history.

It has been lovingly preserved and is in good condition for its age. MEASURES: Will fit a 6 - 6.5 inch wrist. METAL: Silver gilded in 18ct Yellow Gold (Tested). CONDITION: Good - Some small signs of wear to the box clasp. Our Antique Jewellery is not kept on the premises for security reasons.
